SEGUIN LAW

Estate Law

We will help you set up a Last Will & Testament to help make sure your estate is in order and goes to whom you want it to go to.

We will help your loved ones settle your estate and avoid paying for an insurance bond for the estate, which will necessarily occur if there is no will in place prior to passing.

Probate process

We will also help walk Executors of a Will through the entire Probate process including filing the Will with County Surrogate, distributing any property including the possible sale of any real estate, and the filing of Estate taxes or tax waivers.

Power of Attorney

We can also help set up durable Powers of Attorney and Living Wills for you. We can help you set up another person to help you pay bills, contact government agencies, etc., by allowing that person to act for you as a Power of Attorney while you maintain the ability to act for yourself as well.

Guardianship

We can help you file for guardianship of your loved ones when appropriate. A guardianship can help you act for a loved one who can no longer be allowed to act for themselves due to physical or mental disability.

Detemined Care

A Living Will can help you to appoint someone to determine your medical care when consciousness is lost, as well as give your Doctors specific instructions for treatments you wish to refuse, such as breathing or feeding tubes, etc.
